Abstract

The backgrounnd of this research is the lack of competency of teachers in SMP Negeri 3 Bukik Barisan Subdistrict in desinging a Lesson Plan (RPP) which is in accordance with the curriculum applied in the School. The formulation of the problem in this study is "Will Continuous guidance be able to improve the teachers’competence in preparing lesson plans in SMP 3 in Bukik Barisan Subdistrict in 2018/2019 academic year?.” The purpose of this study is to improve the teachers’competence in preparing lesson plans through ongoing guidance at SMPN 3 Bukik Barisan in 2018/2019 academic year. This research is a School Action Research (PTS), PTS is one of the principal development activities in order to improve the competency of the principal. This research was conducted in two cycles with 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 8 teachers of SMPN 3 Bukik Barisan District. The results of the first cycle of research showed that two teachers obtained individual percentages below 70%, and the percentage of classical was still 76% and had not reached the indicator of success. ‘Whereas in the second cycle all teachers have achieved individual success indicators with very good criteria, and the percentage of classical on the second cycle is 95% with very good criteria. So that it can be concluded that there is an increasing in teacher competency in designing lesson plans through continuous guidance at SMP 3 Bukik Barisan Subdistrict in 2018/2019 academic year.
