Efektivitas Media Pohon Huruf dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf Vokal Bagi Anak Tunarungu di SLB N 1 Payakumbuh
This research is based on the finding of a problem in class I Payakumbuh SLBN 1 namely in learning Indonesian. Students get low marks on learning to recognize letters, especially vowels. The research aims to improve students' ability to recognize vowels using letter tree media. The use of letter tree media is because students do not know the vowel letters and the lack of teachers in providing media that attracts students' attention in SLBN 1 Payakumbuh. This study uses a class action method consisting of two cycles. Each cycle begins with the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting the research of the collaboration of the researcher and the teacher. Each observation cycle is focused on recognizing vowels for deaf students using letter tree media. The highest percentage obtained by students in the first cycle IV meeting with a score of 53.3%. While in cycle II the results obtained at the last meeting were with a score of 76.6%. The use of letter tree media in learning to recognize vowels can improve the abilities of deaf students.
